Twinkle Khanna’s hilarious take on what women get as Valentine’s Day gifts after two decades of marriage will leave you in splits! | – Times of India

In a recent column for The Times Of India, Twinkle Khanna, the actor-turned-author, humorously addressed the question of what one might expect as a Valentine’s Day gift after being married for over two decades. Playfully poking fun at the consumerism often associated with the holiday, Twinkle shared candid insights into the realities of long-term relationships, shedding light on what women typically receive after 23 years of marriage.

In her column, the actress amusingly speculated about the origins of Valentine’s Day, humorously proposing that it might have begun as a clever marketing tactic to revitalize post-Christmas sales.Adding depth to her musings, she referenced the words of German-American philosopher Hannah Arendt, emphasizing the significance of openly discussing our experiences.Reflecting on the tradition of exchanging gifts on Valentine’s Day, she wrote, “With all its consumerism, Valentine’s Day perhaps makes the abstraction of love more concrete. Though if you ask women who have been married for over a decade, the most honest answer to ‘What did your husband give you on Valentine’s Day?’ would be, ‘As usual, a headache.’ Love, in fact, may be the ultimate thought experiment. It’s a paradox where accepting each other’s flaws creates an imperfectly perfect connection, with or without wilting red roses and Archie’s card featuring two cartoon hearts winking at each other.”

On January 17, Twinkle celebrated her 23rd wedding anniversary in London, a milestone coinciding with another significant event in her life. She marked the occasion with her graduation ceremony after successfully completing her Masters in Fiction Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London.

Lauding his wife for his latest achievement, Akshay took to Instagram to share a sweet note. “Two years ago when you told me you wanted to take up studies all over again, I wondered if you meant it. But the day I saw you work so hard and perfectly manage a full-fledged student life along with home, career, me and kids, I knew I had married a super woman. Today on your graduation, I also wish I had studied a bit more to know enough words to tell you how proud you make me, Tina. Congratulations and all my love. ,” he wrote.
